Kevin Langeree won a closely-contested three-man final battle at Kite Beach in Cape Town on Wednesday 6th February, to retain his title.
This is the Dutchman's third Red Bull King of the Air win, making him the biggest King of the Air rider on African soil.
After winning the final two tour stops, Naish’s Jalou Langeree has been crowned the 2018 GKA Kite-Surf World Tour Champion.
Opting to ride the Naish Pivot and Skater, Jalou was feeling right at home in the onshore conditions at Point Danger in Torquay, Australia.
The quick reaction of the Pivot allowed Jalou to make fast adjustments on the wave as well as provide superior low-end power in the onshore, light wind conditions.

January 31, 2018, Cape Town, South Africa – Taking the Naish Pivot to all new heights, Naish’s Kevin Langeree reclaimed the crown as the 2018 Red Bull King of the Air with Jesse Richman narrowly missing the podium with a fourth place finish.
The high-flying Dutchman had previously won the event in 2014 and missed it all together due to injury in 2017. This year was a triumphant return to the top step of the podium and joined an elite club as only the second kiteboarder to win two King of the Air titles.

Saint Peter Ording, 2nd run of the 17/18 German Buggy Championship first runs were cancelled due to bad weather so these were the first races for the season 17/18.
The prediction of the weather wasn’t the best, but we have ridden already 4 races this weekend. The weather was foggy and cold. The wind conditions were really difficult and different on the race course.
Les Hemmes beach in Northern France near Calais is kitebuggy paradise.
It is probably the largest and widest beach in Europe and ridable with all wind directions.
It is simply the best beach I know and a potential candidate for the 2019 European championship.
The RedBull Ragnarok 2017 has been a very, very challenging one !
The longest in the history of the event, with a total of 130km for 5 laps and 350 riders on the starting line.
With strong wind and wet snow, it was a big fight on Hardangervidda mountains.
As the sun set on Big Bay last night an amassed crowd watched a showdown of epic proportions as the reigning champion, Aaron Hadlow, battled to defend his crown against lifelong friend Ruben Lenten and the big-air specialist Nick Jacobsen. King of The Air is an event that inspires great debate and stirs up passions among kiteboarders the world over and, with Ruben eliminated early from the finals heat with a well deserved third place, not a word of speculation or dissent could be heard when the Nick’s win was announced.
It’s weird to think that almost a year ago I was sitting on the beach with a pen and piece of paper judging the final round of the KLB European Championships, knowing in the back of my mind that I might actually come back myself to compete.
Last year got me excited about a return to the competition scene to ride against a strong field of competitors and here I was one year later, preparing myself for the final round knowing a minimum of 4th place would wrap up the title.

First up was the final round of the British Championships. The third tour stop was held in Pembrey, one of the top beaches in the UK and often provides perfect conditions. On arrival the beach was flawless however there was one vital ingredient missing for a kite competition and that was good wind.

The biggest international Kitelandboarding Championship took place in the middle of Berlin on October 03 – 05, on the Tempelhofer Feld, which is the largest inner city kite flying field in the world.
Over 50 contestants from all over Europe competed in three disciplines: Race, Freestyle and Hangtime and strong winds of up to 20 knots offered perfect conditions.

After a torturous three day expedition I thought I was having a bad time but on arrival at Medellin and meeting event organizers Ines Uribe and Jairo of Yaripa, I discover that most of the other flyers from around the world on the previous day had been trying to fly in Force 8 winds and had trashed most of their kites!
Most had decided it was to be a day of rest and repair and perhaps ‘hit the town’. Around here you do that on horseback!

At this year's Paris Boat Show - kite manufacturers gave us an insight to their products for the 2004 season.
Among the manufacturers were companies such as Gaastra, Naish, Takoon, and Flexifoil.
Among some of the products on show were Flexifoils' brand new sized 'Bullet' RAM Air kites in 5.5m and 7.0m.
Grouped together in a darkened waiting area - a lonely airport attendant decides to start a conversation, "So where are you flying out to?", "Amman, Jordan" I replied. "Holiday or business?" "It's the King's birthday and he has invited a few of his friends over and we are putting on a show" "Wow! What are you doing?" "Flying kites" I replied coyly.
Then I realised what I'd said. At last, Kites are cool, so cool and good to watch that you can be invited around the world by supporters or even Kings to see them, times are changing!

Turbulence doesn't bother many Powerkiters though 10 hours of it in a Jumbo eventually got me twitching. We ended up watching the ceiling mounted TV showing a boring film while a disaster movie went on around it!
When we did touch down it was 30°c and windy, the terrain was mountainous which was good and we soon found the people to be really friendly. The hotel was cracking, 27th floor with a superb view over the town of Bogota with its skyscrapers, banks and Presidential Palace.
