From the very first tests of Brainchild-produced kites, F-One discovered a new potential for reactivity and in-flight performance, prompting them to consider a new version of the famous Bandit.

The high end of the Bandit Limited Edition by Brainchild benefits from a significant improvement in comfort and control. An innovative feature of this kite is, when sheeted out, its unique ability to move towards the edge of the window, significantly reducing the amount of traction felt.

The difference is clearly perceptible when riding upwind in strong winds, with a noticeable reduction in the traction exerted on the back and legs. In the low end, the kite is optimally positioned in the window, offering stable, constant traction and a better upwind angle.

This configuration also works wonders when sending the kite back to 12 for a jump. This Bandit’s ability to climb high and to offer a floaty hangtime, combined with its exceptional handling and turning quality, make it an ideal kite for kite loops. Finally, the bar feel is lighter and more precise throughout the entire wind range.

Brainchild Construction:

Brainchild Productions is a new kite manufacturing facility in Northern Macedonia in Southeastern Europe, headed by Ralf Grösel. It is distinguished by its adoption of innovative assembly technologies and an unprecedented commitment to sustainability, offering an environmental record unmatched in the kiteboarding world.

Brainchild uses new, state-of-the-art, extra-light materials as well as innovative techniques like Proweld, where all the segments of the leading edge are welded together rather than stitched, which leads to an overall increased stiffness of the kite and even further weight reduction. Moreover, the kites are now digitally printed instead of using typical screen-printing processes. The freedom offered by this printing process allows us to explore new and unique graphics and colors.

Even lighter, more responsive and more powerful, the Bandit Limited Edition by Brainchild makes every session more dynamic and enjoyable, everywhere, any time, in every condition.

Technology

Brainchild:

Brainchild uses innovative, high-tech and extra light materials on both the inflatable structure and canopy of the kites. Strength and lightness are guaranteed for incredible flight performances.

Brainchild Inflation:

The broad, eco-friendly single-point inflation system guarantees optimal airflow and quick inflation.

ECOINK Digital Printing:

Brainchild Production has developed a unique process to print materials digitally, only using Eco Solvent Ink. Printing uses four times less water compared to dyed cloths. Moreover, only white fabrics are used for the canopy, which means there is no wastage of dyed material offcuts or the issue of any material colour shortage. This unique process makes resource planning much easier as well.

Proweld:

Proweld is a unique and revolutionary process technology that Ralf Grösel has patented and developed himself. With Proweld, segments are ultrasonically welded together seamlessly at one point and then glued on the back to increase the structural rigidity of the joint.

With all the segments of the leading edge welded rather than stitched, it creates a stiffer frame with better structural integrity, while also saving weight and reducing the stress on the bladder inside. This leads to a super precise bar feedback and astounding reactivity from the kite.

Auto Relaunch:

F-One’s auto relaunch is quick and easy and releases the kite from the water with the perfect amount of traction.

Once the kite is sitting with the leading edge flat on the water, its C-Shape associated with the Delta Pivot allows the kite to automatically roll over onto one wing tip.

The kite will then glide towards the edge of the window, ready for quick and easy water relaunch.

Delta C-Shape:

Offers unmatched stability and steering response when fully de-powered, with the possibility of connecting the front lines higher on the leading edge of the kite.

Delta C-Shape is a patented design used by F-One on all kites for the past 15 years. This shape was the result of a design research towards maximum optimization of the aerodynamic performances of the kite and of its depower. It gives the possibility to fit more canopy area in the middle sections to create more projected area while the C Shape makes sure the kite remains responsive and fluid.

Control Bar

F-One Linx - SK99 Control Bar:

The F-One Linx bar takes all the best bits of the Monolith Bar and added some great features to create the ultimate connection to your kite.

The Linx Bar now benefits from new SK99 lines, made from the strongest available Dyneema fibres available on the market. It also features a new pigtail system and a new adjustable V-split system

The Linx SK99 bar is also now available in two sizes, 52-45 and 45-38cm; this allows you to choose the perfect size bar for your quiver. The new integrated floats on the rear line not only offer a cleaner look; they also house the mechanism to adjust the size of your bar too.

A new One Line Flag Out safety system features this year and is now the standard for all F-ONE kites. There’s a high-quality corrosion proof Inox steel hub on the front lines that allows one line to slide. The first 6m of the front lines are larger in diameter for durability, and there is a stopper to prevent the bar from travelling too far away from you when the safety is engaged.

F-One have also added a manual swivel on top of the chicken loop this year; it uses a high-quality ball bearing and is easy to rotate even when powered. This allows you to untwist your front lines after performing rotational tricks and is a feature every rider is going to fall in love with!

The Lifeline safety connection has an added swivel, so there is no danger of twists affecting the release of the kite, and the same goes for the leash too. The safety can be set up in suicide mode for freestyle riders while still retaining full functionality when the chicken loop is released as the loop can slide through the Lifeline safety connection with ease.

There’s a new Inox steel ring on the front lines; riders can choose to run the front lines through this ring to give the kite a short V on the front lines. Or you can run the lines outside of this ring to have a full front V. Kites like the Furtive perform better with the full front V, while the Bandit flies better with the short V. This feature of the bar means you only need one kite bar regardless of your quiver of kites.

F-One have retained the ability to tune the rear lines, so if a line does stretch, you can still tune the bar so all the lines are equal and the kite will still fly properly.
